All-New Gen 3 Coupe
The Gen 3 Type 65 Coupe is Here.
The Gen 3 Factory Five Daytona Coupe replica is completely new, and there is not a single piece of steel chassis, aluminum panel, or composite body that is shared with the previous gen 1 and gen 2 car! This is effectively an all-new Factory Five design.

Overview
The Best of 1965 and Today.
The Type 65 Coupe is both an accurate replica of the original 1965 World Championship Daytona Coupe, and also an evolutionary design that exceeds the original in every category. The Factory Five Type 65 Coupe captures the look and feel of the original 200 mph GT cars, but with modern technology and materials, it is faster, stronger, more reliable, handles better, and is more comfortable.

“Of course you can’t drive an original Daytona Coupe, they’re priceless. Pete Brock told us himself that the Factory Five version is as good as it gets when it comes to replicas.
That’s good enough for us.”

2 Ways to Build YourType 65 Coupe
BASE KIT OR COMPLETE KIT
Just like our Mk4 Roadster, the Coupe can be built two ways. You can buy a base kit that is “donor Mustang capable,” or you can buy the complete kit that gives you just about every nut and bolt you need to build the car (except engine/
transmission/rear-end, wheels/tires, and paint).
TYPE 65 COUPE BASE KIT - $17,990
The Type 65 Coupe base kit is based on the innovation of using running gear from a single donor vehicle — namely, the high-performance Ford Mustang. The concept was, and still is, so simple. If you have our base kit and running gear parts from a 1987-1993 Mustang GT donor car, you already have all the parts you need to build and drive your car!

TYPE 65 COUPE COMPLETE KIT - $22,990
Over the years we have expanded our chassis kit to include factory-new parts as well. Our complete kit comes with all-new parts. The only things you’ll need to add are your own engine/transmission/rear end, wheels/tires, and paint.

Authentic Design, Modern Engineering
The Factory Five Racing Type 65 Coupe frame is the heart of the kit. It is computer designed to be extremely strong yet maintain the beauty and elegance of early 1960s race car frame designs. The frame is shipped as part of an assembled chassis kit, ready to accept bolt-on components.

Type 65 Coupe Suspension and Brakes
The Type 65 Coupe features the same proven suspension parts and geometry as the Factory Five Mk4 Roadster. Computer simulations and hundreds of hours on the track under the most extreme conditions have helped our engineers design world-class suspensions and brakes that deliver great car control.

Type 65 Coupe Running Gear
Engine bay and deck height limit engine selection to Ford small blocks (289, 302, 351-based engines) and the 5.0L Coyote. It’s important when taking on this project to decide on an engine and transmission configuration that will deliver the power you need and is within your budget.

All Business at the Helm
The Coupe interior was designed to capture the essence of the original car, yet improve on things like ergonomics, co*ckpit space, and sound/heat management. We kept the interior period correct and functional like its forbearer, however we designed in modern comfort and controls like supportive seating, air conditioning, and improved visibility. All these things combine to enhance the driving experience rather than affect it.

Best Looking Coupe with All the Right Details.
The Coupe is an extremely unique design and car. The need for authenticity makes the exterior components and trim even more important. When you look closely, you’ll find that our Coupe stays faithful to the original car from the main body shape all the way down to the smallest of details.

The Hard Numbers
The Coupe backs up its dramatic good looks with performance to match — something that is rare in the kit car world. A modestly built FFR Coupe powered by a 345hp Ford Racing 302 crate engine will sprint to 60 mph in less than four seconds! It will also out-brake a Ford GT and out-handle a brand new Porsche 911 Carrera.
