While she is a good teacher, her lectures are student driven. She focuses a lot on racism. She is a tough grader too.

Overall I liked Professor Davis. She has a lot of experience in the criminal justice system and so that's nice. Plus there's not a lot of pressure in class which I appreciated. The exam was okay-a lot of material for the time allotted. She makes her personal opinions very clear, and the lectures are very one sided.

Such a fun class and a very liberal grader. Prof. Davis makes her opinions very clear so it's not hard to perform well on the final exam as long as you agree with her. For example in People v. Goetz, she will show the class a dated video and illustrate how certain disadvantaged classes of people have constantly been discriminated against by police.

All of the answers come from her previous tests which are located on the WCL exam bank. Her class doesn't teach you most aspects of the topics covered so studying with an E&E or other creditable supplement will teach you far more than you need to know. Just show up to class and make sure to take notes on her opinion of a case. She is not objective.

Prof. Davis' class was a really great introduction into criminal law. The test is really long, but fair. The best way to prepare for Davis' test is to review practice exams and to prepare the rule portion of the exam. The exam is open book, which makes it much easier to arrive w at least the rule portion handy.

She was very interesting when she stayed on topic and definitely kept class interesting at times. Unfortunately, those times were few and far between as class was dominated by classmates' stories that had little relevance. She has a hard time reigning students in, so it was tough to make yourself go to class. Exam was pretty easy at least!

My advice for students in her crim. law class is too sit in the back (if you want to go to class which won't help you at all) and read the E and E and go over old practice exams. Class is almost half filled with people stating the opinion and I felt fustrated I was paying to hear others talk. Sit in the back for the 2 minutes of actual teacing.

Davis' lectures can be a little heavy on the "inherent racial biases in the criminal justice system" but she was a great prof who flushed out the bottom line, black letter rules you needed to know for the exam...plus she posted old exams so you knew the style she wanted you to use when writing the exam, wish the rest of them did that!

Watered down crim. law. Did'nt cover some key topics, bar exam will cover. Spent most classes talking about racism in criminal system, while important not relevant to an intro. class focused on crim. law concepts. Unlike her demeanor in class she is hard grader. One can't be bad teacher and a hard grader.

Great professor. If you have an interest in crim defense she is especially incredible. Very very passionate about indigent crim def work. Very funny and has an interesting story for every topic. Overall an excellent professor & I would strongly encourage students to take her classes.
